Get eKYC Done Quickly
It is important to note that e-KYC is necessary to avail the benefits of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-Kisan) scheme. Prime Minister Narendra Modi released the 18th instalment of the PM Kisan scheme on October 15, 2024.
What is PM Kisan Yojana?
PM Kisan is a central government scheme fully financed by the Government of India. Under this scheme, the instalment amount is transferred directly to the bank account of the beneficiaries. Eligible farmers receive an annual payment of Rs 6,000, which is divided into three equal instalments of Rs 2,000 every four months. The payment is made to the bank account linked to the Aadhaar of the landholder farmer (the individual in whose name the cultivable land is registered).
Why is eKYC Necessary?
eKYC is required to ensure that the benefits of the PM Kisan scheme reach all farmers across the country without involving any middlemen, reducing the chances of fraud.
Methods of eKYC
There are three methods of completing the eKYC for PM Kisan Yojana beneficiaries:
- OTP-based e-KYC (available on the PM-Kisan portal and mobile app)
- Biometric-based e-KYC (available at Common Service Centers (CSC) and State Service Centers (SSK))
- Face authentication-based e-KYC (available on the PM Kisan mobile app), which is widely used by millions of farmers.
How to Register for PM Kisan Yojana?
Eligible beneficiaries must complete the e-KYC process using their Aadhaar card, citizenship certificate, documents proving land ownership, and bank account details.
To register, follow these steps:
- Visit the PM-Kisan portal and click on Register Online.
- Visit your nearest Common Service Center (CSC).
