PM Kisan Samman Nidhi: Big news for Indian Farmers. Currently, inactive farmers should disregard the 2,000 rupee installment. The government will cease these payments for such farmers. Surveys are being conducted by the government to determine the actual status of farmers, distinguishing between those who are actively farming and those who are not. The department has made it clear that moving forward, only farmers who are genuinely engaged in farming will qualify for the 2,000 rupee installment under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi.

Half of the farmers in Hamirpur have been surveyed

The digital agriculture survey being carried out by the Agriculture Department in Hamirpur district, Himachal Pradesh, is now in its concluding phase. According to the department’s data, 314,139 surveys have been completed to date, with 184,174 receiving approval. Registration has been confirmed for 59.11 percent of farmers, covering more than half of the district’s farming population.

The Agriculture Department notes that a significant number of farmers remain unregistered. Consequently, Panchayat Assistants and local representatives have been tasked with visiting homes to connect the remaining farmers with the scheme and help them complete the registration process. If a farmer is deemed inactive in the survey, their installment will be halted.

Digital surveys are being utilized to identify farmers who have ceased farming or are not active on their land. The department has stated that if a farmer is found to be inactive in the survey, their Kisan Samman Nidhi installments could be discontinued.

Numerous farmers have yet to complete their registration

Officials have urged farmers to stay committed to farming and provide accurate information. Many farmers have not been able to register due to a lack of information or technical difficulties. The department has instructed that these farmers be identified and prioritized for inclusion in the scheme. Awareness campaigns have been ramped up at the Panchayat level to ensure that no eligible farmer is overlooked in the scheme.

What do agricultural officials say?

Durga Dutt Sharma, Deputy Director of the Agriculture Department, stated that 314,139 surveys have been completed under the Digital Agri Survey, of which 184,174 have been approved. He urged Panchayat Assistants to reach out to every household to raise awareness among farmers and ensure the registration of the remaining farmers. He also clarified that in the future, only farmers engaged in active farming will be eligible for the scheme’s benefits.
