PM Kisan Yojana: The Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, run by the Government of India, has become an important source of income support for millions of farmers across the country. Under this scheme, eligible farmers are provided with financial assistance of ₹6,000 annually. This amount is transferred directly to their bank accounts through DBT.

Under this scheme, farmers receive installments of ₹2,000 every three months. So far, 21 installments have been released, and farmers across the country are now awaiting the 22nd installment. The main objective of this scheme is to strengthen the economic condition of small and marginal farmers.

When will the 22nd installment of PM Kisan be released?

The last installment, i.e., the 21st, was released on November 19, 2025. Typically, PM Kisan installments are released at intervals of approximately four months. Based on this, it is estimated that the next, i.e., 22nd installment, may be released in February 2026.

Some reports also suggest that the money may be transferred to farmers’ accounts in the last week of February 2026, but no official announcement has been made by the government yet.

According to experts, the installment could be released anytime between January and March, and the exact date will be clear only after an official announcement.

Why is e-KYC necessary?

The government has made e-KYC mandatory for the benefits of the PM Kisan Yojana. Farmers who have not completed e-KYC may face a delay in their installments. Farmers can complete e-KYC on the portal using an OTP or undergo biometric e-KYC at the nearest CSC center.

Documents Required for e-KYC

To complete the e-KYC process, farmers must have a mobile number linked to Aadhaar. Additionally, the bank account must be linked to Aadhaar so that the installment can be transferred directly to the account.

Online Process for PM Kisan e-KYC

First, visit the official portal pmkisan.gov.in. Then, go to the Farmers’ Corner section on the homepage. Select the e-KYC option. Enter your Aadhaar number and mobile number and complete the OTP verification.
