PM Awas Yojana: On one hand, millions of farmers across the country are awaiting the next installment, the 22nd installment, of the PM Kisan Yojana. On the other hand, in various districts of Uttar Pradesh, many people have received Rs 1 lakh each in their accounts. This amount is not the first installment under the PM Kisan Yojana, but rather the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Urban (PM Awas Yojana). The government has released the list for the PM Awas Yojana for 2026. Beneficiaries whose names appear on this list will receive financial assistance for home construction under this scheme.
The first installment under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Urban has begun arriving for those scheduled to receive benefits in 2026. On December 18, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath distributed ₹1 lakh each to 200,000 beneficiaries. This is the first installment under this scheme. Under the PMAY-Urban BLC category, funding comes in three installments. The first and second installments comprise 40 percent each, and the remaining 20 percent comes in the final installment.
