New Year Gift for Women: Haryana Govt Makes Major Changes in Deendayal Lado Laxmi Yojana

Lado Laxmi Yojana

Lado Laxmi Yojana: Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini announced major changes to the “Deendayal Lado Laxmi Yojana,” which empowers Haryana’s women and daughters financially, on the occasion of the New Year 2026. Beneficiaries will no longer receive ₹2,100 directly into their accounts every month, but the government has developed a new, robust investment and savings formula. Furthermore, the income limit has been expanded from ₹1 lakh to ₹1.80 lakh, enabling millions of additional women in the state to benefit from the scheme.

After the cabinet meeting, Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini clarified that significant changes have been made to the distribution method of funds under the scheme. Until now, women were receiving ₹2,100 per month, but now this amount has been divided into two parts.

Instead of ₹2,100, ₹1,100 will now be directly credited to the beneficiary woman’s bank account each month in cash, while the remaining ₹1,000 will be deposited by the government in the form of a fixed deposit (FD) in her name. Furthermore, this money will now be credited quarterly, not monthly. This significant change aims to meet women’s immediate needs while also creating a secure savings fund for their future. This means that a total benefit of ₹6,300 will now be disbursed every three months, including both cash and FDs.

Increase in Income Limit

Previously, this scheme was only available to families with an annual income of up to ₹1 lakh. The government has now made this eligibility even more stringent and inclusive. Families with annual incomes of up to ₹180,000 can now apply, provided they fall into certain specific categories.

This includes women whose children have scored more than 80% in grades 10 or 12. Mothers whose children were previously malnourished (anemic) but are now in the “green zone,” meaning healthy, will also benefit. Furthermore, mothers of children in grades 1 to 4 who have achieved grade-level proficiency under the Nipun Mission will also be eligible to apply with this increased income limit. Currently, approximately 800,000 women are benefiting from this scheme, and the increased income limit will further increase this number.

Application Process

To bring transparency to the Deendayal Lado Laxmi Yojana, the government has made it completely digital. Applying for the scheme eliminates the hassle of visiting a government office. You can register directly by downloading the scheme’s official mobile app. If you meet the eligibility criteria, you can submit your application through the app.

Waiting for the next installment

As for the next installment, the second installment was released on December 3, 2025. According to the government’s new three-monthly payment rule, the next substantial installment is now expected to be released in March 2026. This time, women will receive three months’ worth of funds at once, allowing them to meet their major needs promptly.
