Nitish Kumar’s government has started a special scheme to promote women’s jobs and support women empowerment. The name of this scheme is Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana. The main aim of this scheme is to give money help to one woman from every family in the state so that she can start work of her choice.
What is the aim of Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana?
Under this scheme, one woman from every family will get ₹10,000 as the first help to start her own work. After she starts her work, the government will check it. If needed, she can get more help of up to ₹2 lakh. This step of the Bihar government will not only make women stronger but also help the state’s economy grow.
Who will get the benefit of Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana?
The government has said that family in this scheme means husband, wife, and their unmarried children.
Unmarried women, whose parents are not alive, will be counted as one family. They will also get benefits as per rules.
All women who are members of self-help groups in cities (one woman from one family) will get benefits of this scheme.
Rules for getting the benefit:
- The woman’s age must be between 18 and 60 years.
- The woman or her husband should not pay income tax.
- The woman or her husband should not work in government service (regular or contract).
How will women of urban areas apply?
- Women of cities have to visit the Jeevika website: www.brlps.in.
- They must enter their mobile number, Aadhaar number, bank account details, and type of business while registering.
- They must upload scanned copies of Aadhaar card, bank passbook (with name, account number, IFSC code), photo, and signature on plain paper.
- To get the benefit, women must join a self-help group.
- After online application, a community resource worker will contact them to add them to a group.
- Only after joining the group, the scheme benefit will be given.
- Women already in self-help groups do not need to apply online.
- For women not in a group, the Jeevika website has a link to apply.
After this, all applications will be checked physically. It will also be confirmed that the woman is a resident of Bihar.
Application process for women of rural areas
- All women already in Jeevika self-help groups can apply. They will go to their village organization and submit the application.
- A special meeting will be held at the village level. Applications of all women of the group will be collected together.
- Women who are not in Jeevika groups must first apply in the given form to join the group through their village organization. Only after that, they can get scheme benefits.
Note: The online portal for Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana has been open from September 10.
