Aadhaar Card Update: When you move to a new house, the first thing you need to do is change your address with your bank, office, school, delivery apps, and other essential services. Among all these, updating your address on your Aadhaar card is most important. Aadhaar has become the most important identity document today, and banking, government schemes, and many essential services are linked to it. If the address on your Aadhaar card is incorrect, your work may get stalled, or you may face difficulties in identity verification.

Online Address Update Facility

Now, you don’t need to go anywhere to update your address in your Aadhaar card. This can be done online by visiting the official UIDAI website, myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in. After entering your Aadhaar number on the website, you will receive an OTP on your registered mobile number, which is used for login. Upon logging in, your demographic information will be displayed on the screen, from where you can change your old address.

How to Upload Proof of Address

While updating your address, you need to upload a Proof of Address document. This document can be an electricity bill, bank statement, or any other valid proof. The document should be in JPEG, PNG, or PDF format, and its size should not exceed 2MB. It is important to upload a correct and clear document so that the request can be processed without any interruption.

What happens after submitting the request?

After uploading the document, the request is submitted. Immediately after this, you will receive a Service Request Number (SRN). This number can be used to track the status of your Aadhaar update online. UIDAI verifies the documents within a few days, and upon successful verification, the new address is updated in your Aadhaar card.
