LPG Booking Updates: Great news about LPG bookings! Distributors have resumed home delivery in villages once again. After the war started in early March, rural residents had to make multiple trips to distributors to obtain cylinders.
To receive the cylinder at home, you will need to follow these steps
If you wish to get an LPG cylinder delivered to your home, you must book it using your registered mobile number. An OTP will be sent to you, which will be required for the delivery of the LPG cylinder. According to a statement from the central government, 99 percent of LPG cylinder bookings are based on OTPs.
This statement from the government brought relief
On Monday, the Union Petroleum Ministry announced that there were no reports of cylinder shortages from any distributors. Supplies are completely normal. On April 14th, another LPG tanker arrived in Kandla, Gujarat. This tanker had crossed the Strait of Hormuz on April 11th. It is important to note that India currently relies on Gulf countries for 80 to 85 percent of its LPG needs. The war significantly disrupted this supply chain, leaving many Indian tankers stranded on their way. However, India has managed to bring many LPG cylinders back to the country gradually.
Will the price of LPG cylinders rise?
Commercial gas cylinder prices were raised on April 1st. At that time, the price of domestic gas cylinders remained the same. However, in March, the price of domestic LPG cylinders was also increased. Notably, the price of a 5 kg FTL gas cylinder went up by Rs 51.
Cylinders will only be available with ID proof
Customers will not need to provide proof of address for a 5-kilogram cylinder. With just an ID proof, any customer can obtain a 5-kilogram cylinder from a distributor. The government is implementing strict measures to combat the black marketing of LPG cylinders. Regular raids are being conducted to ensure that no one can illegally store cylinders.
