Lakhpati Didi Yojana- Women empowerment in the country is not just a slogan, but has become a mission. To bring this purpose on the ground, the Government of India has been bringing new schemes from time to time. One of the important schemes among these is the Lakhpati Didi Yojana, which was launched in the year 2023. The aim of this scheme is to make women financially strong and take them on the path of self-reliance.

Under the Lakhpati Didi Yojana, the government encourages women to start their own small or medium business. For this, they are given business training, as well as loan facility is also available without any major struggle if needed. That is, women only have to show courage, the rest of the support is being given by the government.

What is Lakhpati Didi Yojana

Lakhpati Didi Yojana is an ambitious scheme of the Government of India, which aims to make the rural and town women of the country self-reliant and make them financially capable so that they can earn an income of at least one lakh rupees in a year. This scheme was started in the year 2023 and is being run under Mission “DAY-NRLM” i.e. Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana, National Rural Livelihood Mission. Under this scheme, the government motivates women for self-employment. Skill training is given to make them skilled such as beauty parlor, sewing-embroidery, poultry farming, goat farming, mushroom production, incense stick manufacturing or other small scale businesses.

What documents are required

First of all, keep in mind that only those women can apply for Lakhpati Didi Yojana who are members of Self-Help Group (SHG) and whose family’s annual income is not more than Rs 3 lakh. Apart from this, if there is any government employee in the family then the application may be rejected. After becoming eligible, the next step is to keep the necessary documents like Aadhaar card, PAN card, bank passbook, income certificate, residence certificate, mobile number, passport size photo ready.

After this, the woman has to go to her nearest Anganwadi center, SHG office or branch of the Rural Development Department. There she has to fill an application form in which she will give details of her business plan. Such as sewing-embroidery, dairy, beauty parlor or any local agriculture/small industry. This business plan has to be prepared with the help of the officer of the same SHG or department so that approval is easy.
