Aadhaar card update: In today’s digital age, the Aadhaar card has become the most important identity document for every citizen. From banking to government schemes, Aadhaar is used everywhere. Therefore, if your Aadhaar card is misused, you could face serious consequences. In many cases, it has been observed that someone else misused a person’s Aadhaar, but during the investigation, the police first hold the Aadhaar holder responsible.

The threat of Aadhaar misuse is increasing

In recent times, several cases have come to light where a person was unaware that their Aadhaar card had been used by someone else. Later, fraud was committed using the same Aadhaar number for bank accounts, SIM cards, or other services, and the real Aadhaar holder got caught in legal trouble. What is Aadhaar Authentication History?

UIDAI provides citizens with a special facility called Aadhaar Authentication History. Through this facility, anyone can find out when, where, and for what purpose their Aadhaar card was used. This history is a record of your Aadhaar’s digital activities, which plays a crucial role in your security.

Checking the Aadhaar history is essential

If you see your Aadhaar card being used in a place where you haven’t used it yourself, it could be a warning sign. By identifying such activities in time, you can file a complaint with UIDAI or the relevant department and avoid major losses. In this way, Aadhaar’s history acts as a safety shield.

How to check your Aadhaar history

To view your Aadhaar usage history, you need to visit the official UIDAI website, uidai.gov.in. In the My Aadhaar section of the website, you will find the Aadhaar Authentication History option. Alternatively, you can directly go to the page resident.uidai.gov.in/aadhaar-auth-history.

Your identity will be verified with an OTP

To view the history, you will need to enter your 12-digit Aadhaar number. After that, fill in the captcha displayed on the screen and click on Send OTP. An OTP will be sent to the mobile number registered with UIDAI. Once you enter the correct OTP, your identity will be verified, and you will be taken to the history page.

Complete record for the last six months

After OTP verification, you will receive information about where your Aadhaar card has been used in the last six months. This includes the date, time, and method of authentication. Currently, UIDAI only provides history for the last six months.

Verify the history yourself

People usually remember when and for what purpose they used their Aadhaar card. With this online history, you can easily cross-reference the information. If any information seems suspicious, you should be immediately vigilant.

A way to strengthen Aadhaar security

Regularly checking your Aadhaar authentication history can not only protect you from fraud but also safeguard you from legal complications. This process is completely online, free, and very easy.
