Important News for Pensioners, Submit a Life Certificate this Way, Your Pension will Not be Stopped

Life Certificate Submission Process: If you are a pensioner, this news may be important for you. All pensioners are required to submit a life certificate every year to avoid any interruptions in their pension. Submitting a life certificate signifies that the pensioner is alive. Previously, submitting it required a visit to a bank or pension office, but the government has simplified the process by making it both offline and online. This process allows you to easily submit a life certificate.

This system was introduced by the government in 2019 to ensure that seniors receive pension benefits for as long as possible. This certificate is required for those under 80 years of age and older.

Learn about the online method

Submit a life certificate from the comfort of your home.

You can submit your life certificate by visiting the Jeevan Pramaan portal and submitting it by scanning your fingerprint or iris.

This facility is also available through the Umang app. It only requires a mobile phone.

Life certificates can be submitted by scanning your face in the app.

Pensioners can also submit life certificates using a video-based app.

Learn about the offline method

Pensioners can submit certificates offline.

They can avail doorstep banking. A bank employee comes to your home and collects the life certificate. This requires prior booking.

You can also avail this facility through the post office. A life certificate can be generated by fingerprinting at the nearest post office.

You can also submit the life certificate by filling out a form at the bank.

How a life certificate works

For information, a life certificate is generated using biometric identification. Your Aadhaar number, fingerprint, or iris scan is used for identification. Once identified, a digital life certificate is generated online. The bank or pension disbursing agency can view this certificate directly online.

How to get a digital life certificate

First, you need to visit a Life Certificate Center.

After this, you need to download the Life Certificate app on your mobile.

After this, you need to enter your Aadhaar, PPO number, bank name, account number, and mobile number.

Identification is now done through a fingerprint or iris scan.

If successful, you will receive a Life Certificate ID on your mobile.

You can download your digital certificate by visiting the website jeevanpramaan.gov.in with your ID.
