ICIC Bank Credit Card: If you use an ICICI Bank credit card, this news is going to be very important for you. ICICI Bank has made several significant changes to its credit card rules. These new changes will come into effect in January 2026. These changes include changes to transaction fees and rewards for various cards. These new changes will apply to all retail credit card customers. Let’s learn the details.

Transaction charges for online gaming platforms

Now, transactions made using ICICI Bank credit cards on online gaming platforms will incur an additional 2 percent fee. This 2 percent fee applies to gaming platforms like Dream11, RumiCulture, and MPL, among others. After the new rules, now if a customer deposits Rs 5000 or more in a digital wallet, he will have to pay a fee of 1 percent. Similarly, a fee of 1 percent will also have to be paid on transport or travel expenses of more than Rs 50,000. Apart from this, the bank has reduced the reward point system of many of its cards. Now, rewards up to Rs 20,000 per month will be available only on credit cards like Emeralde, Emeralde Private, Sapphiro, Rubyx. Whereas, rewards up to Rs 10,000 per month will be available only on cards like Coral, Platinum, CSK, Manchester United, Expressions.

Changes in ICICI Bank Premium Emeralde Card

Now, there will be no rewards on expenses like government services, petrol, rent, tax payment, wallet transactions on Emeralde Metal card. Whereas, a one-time fee of Rs 3,500 will be levied on the new add-on card of Emeralde Metal card. Now, the earlier BOGO offer will be available to the customers only if Rs 25,000 has been spent in the last 3 months. Also, this facility will be completely discontinued on Instant Platinum card from February 2026. Now, the charges on payments in foreign currency through different credit cards will be as follows.

MakeMyTrip Travel Card – 0.99 percent
Times Black Card – 1.49 percent
Amazon Pay ICICI Card – 1.99 percent
Emeralde cards – 2 percent
Maximum other cards – 3.5%

All ICICI Bank credit cards will now be subject to a 2% gaming fee, a 1% charge on wallet loads exceeding Rs 5,000, a 1% charge on excess travel expenses, additional fees for cash payments at branches, and foreclosure charges for instant EMI cancellations. Furthermore, rewards on insurance payments on the HPCL Super Saver card will now be limited to up to Rs 40,000 per month.
