How Much Gas Is Left In Your Cylinder? Know how to check it

LPG cooking gas is a common choice for many households today. The Government of India is actively promoting the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana to ensure that every home has access to LPG. However, it can be quite inconvenient when you’re cooking for guests and suddenly run out of gas. This often leads to a mad dash to the store for a refill. Today, we’ll share a handy method to check how much gas is left in your LPG cylinder. Here’s how you can do it:

First, wrap a wet cloth around the cylinder and let it sit for about 5 minutes. When you remove the cloth, the area that feels moist indicates where gas is still present, while the dry part shows that the gas is running low.

Next, observe the color of the flame. A strong blue flame means you have plenty of gas left, while a yellow or weak flame suggests that you’re nearing the end. Heavier cylinders typically contain more gas, whereas lighter ones indicate less. If you notice any unusual sounds or suspect a gas leak, reach out to your gas agency right away.

To check for gas leaks, mix some soap with water and apply it to the regulator. If you see bubbles forming, contact your gas agency immediately. By using these simple techniques, you can easily monitor the gas level in your cylinder and ensure your safety.
