The reason for this is that the government is going to reduce the burden of GST on businessmen, a proposal that has also been approved by the Union Cabinet. The central government is considering implementing GST in two slabs: 5 per cent and 18 per cent.
For this, the government has also made a complete plan. In the meeting of the Group of Ministers on 20 and 21 August 2025, it was decided to abolish the 12 per cent and 28 per cent GST slabs, which were approved by the cabinet. According to some important reports, the government is considering bringing textile and food products into the tax slab of 5 per cent.
