Gold Rate Today: Even before the arrival of Akshaya Tritiya 2026, significant fluctuations are being observed in gold and silver prices, a trend attributed to tensions in the Middle East. Due to Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Jayanti, bullion markets remain closed today, April 14. Consequently, the closing rates from Monday remain applicable for Tuesday. However, trading on the MCX will not take place during the morning session (9:00 AM to 5:00 PM).
Nevertheless, the evening session will remain operational from 5:00 PM until 11:55 PM. Furthermore, according to the Indian Bullion and Jewellers Association (IBJA), by the time the market closed on Monday, the price of 24-carat gold had reached ₹1,50,010 per 10 grams; however, this figure excludes the 3% GST and making charges.
Gold and Silver Rates on MCX
On the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), gold futures (as of the market close on April 12) settled at ₹1,52,690 per 10 grams, recording a decline of ₹89. Meanwhile, silver dropped by ₹2,775 to close at ₹2,40,499 per kilogram.
Gold and Silver Prices in the International Market
A decline in the prices of precious metals has been recorded in the international market. Spot silver fell by $1.58—or 2.09%—to settle at $74.31 per ounce. Similarly, gold dropped by $25.92 to reach $4,722.26 per ounce.
