How to identify gold?

If you are going to buy gold jewellery, then buy it only after verifying the hallmark, as this is a government guarantee of gold purity. In India, the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) determines the hallmark. The hallmark marks of each carat are different; keep this in mind before purchasing gold. If you do not do this, your gold may also be adulterated, so always buy after verifying its authenticity.
