Namo Laxmi Yojana: How Girl Students from Class 9–12 Can Get Rs 50,000? Know here

Namo Laxmi Yojana: The Gujarat government has made a major announcement for girls. On Tuesday, the state government announced that it will provide financial assistance of Rs 1,250 crore to over 1.2 million girl students under the Namo Laxmi Yojana. This scheme will benefit girls studying in grades 9th to 12th in the 2025-26 academic year. According to the state education department, the scheme aims to ensure that financial constraints do not prevent girls from completing their education after primary schooling.

This initiative was launched under the guidance of Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, and is being overseen by Education Minister Dr. Pradyumna Vaja and State Education Minister Rivaba Jadeja. This scheme is for students studying in schools affiliated with the Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSHSB) or the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). Fortunately, girls already receiving other government scholarships are also eligible. Under the Namo Lakshmi Yojana, girl students from class 9 to 12 will get financial assistance of Rs 50 thousand in four years.

How much money will the girl students get?

Under the scheme, a total financial assistance of Rs 20,000 will be provided to students of classes 9th and 10th. This includes Rs 500 per month for 10 months based on attendance. The remaining Rs10,000 will be given after passing the 10th board exams. Similarly, Rs 30,000 will be given to girl students in classes 11th and 12th. This will include Rs 750 per month for 10 months each year. The remaining Rs 15,000 will be given after passing the 12th grade. The aim of this scheme is not only to support girls’ education, but also to improve the nutrition and health of adolescents.

Eligibility for Namo Laxmi Yojana

  1. The student must have completed her studies from class 1 to 8 in a government or government-aided school or private school or under RTE.
  2. The student must be a permanent resident of Gujarat.
  3. The annual income of the family should be less than Rs 6 lakh.

How to apply for Namo Laxmi Yojana?

  • The student will have to collect the application form from the school administration.
  • You must fill in all the details in the application form and attach all the required documents.
  • The application form has to be submitted to the office of the District Education Officer
  • Do not forget to take the receipt of the application form
