You often forget to keep half the card, and then the fear of losing it starts haunting you. You start feeling that half of our cards may have been stolen or lost. But do you know there is no need to fear even if the Aadhaar card is stolen or lost?
You will easily get a duplicate Aadhaar card. For this, you must understand some critical pprocesses where all your confusion will end. You can get a duplicate Aadhaar card both online and offline. To get it, you will have to understand some critical documents, where you will not face any kroblem.
First of all, do this work
If you lose the Aadhaar card, you will first have to go to the Aadhaar centre. From here, you can get a duplicate copy of the Aadhaar card. Go to any Aadhaar enrollment/update centre and fill in your information. This includes name, gender, district or pin code and other information.
Your biometric identification (fingerprint or iris scan) will be done in this. When the matching is done, the operator will print your e-Aadhaar letter. You will be charged a fee for doing this work. For this, you can also call the UIDAI helpline number 1947. Your problem will be solved from here.
How to get a duplicate Aadhaar card online
For this, first of all, you will have to go to the official website of UIDAI.
After this, you must find the Aadhaar Services section on the UIDAI website.
Then it can be found in the main menu or even in the drop-down menu.
Then you can easily find the option “Retrieve Lost UID/EID”.
By clicking here you will reach the page where you can request for a duplicate Aadhaar card.
After this, on the Retrieve Lost UID/EID page, you can choose the option as per your requirement.
You can choose either “Aadhaar Number (UID) or Enrollment Number (EID).
Then you will have to enter the required information.
This includes your full name, registered mobile number or email address and the security code shown on the page. Any additional information will also need to be provided.
After filling in all the details, click on Send OTP.
Then you will get an OTP on the registered mobile number or email address.
The OTP must be entered in the space provided on the webpage.
After entering the OTP, fill in the ‘Captcha Code’ and click ‘Submit’. Then, after OTP verification, you will get your Aadhaar number (UID) on your registered mobile number or email address.
Then a confirmation message will also appear on the screen.
Now you can get a duplicate Aadhaar card by visiting the UIDAI portal and can take its printout.
