Considering the welfare of the common people, both the central and state governments have launched numerous welfare schemes. One such scheme of the central government is the Ayushman Bharat scheme (Ayushman Card), under which millions of people across the country are receiving free medical treatment.
However, there is no longer any need to stand in long queues to get this card. You can apply for the Ayushman card directly through a mobile app. But how? Let us explain in today’s report.
The Ayushman Card is a health card created under the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana. Launched in 2018, this scheme provides free medical assistance of up to ₹5 lakh per year to poor and vulnerable families across the country.
Create your Ayushman Card from home
To create an Ayushman Card for yourself or a family member, simply follow these steps:
- First, download the Ayushman app from the Play Store.
- Then, open the app and select your preferred language.
- Next, go to the Beneficiary option and enter your mobile number and captcha code.
- Then, go to the Search for Beneficiary option and select PM-JAY as the scheme.
- After that, select your state and district.
- Then, log in using your Aadhaar number.
- You will then see the names of your family members.
- Those whose cards have not yet been created will have “Authenticate” written next to their names.
- Click on that, enter the Aadhaar number of the family member, provide the OTP, and upload a photo.
- Then, fill in your mobile number and other required information and submit the form.
- Once the information is verified, you will receive the card through the app within a week.

What documents are required?
To create an Ayushman Card, you will need your Aadhaar card, ration card, mobile number, and a passport-sized color photograph. Having an e-Shram card or labor card may provide additional benefits.
How to avail medical services?
Once you receive your Ayushman Card, simply go to a nearby government or empanelled private hospital. An Ayushman Mitra there will verify your card. After that, your treatment will be completely free of charge.
