In today’s digital age, smartphones have made banking a lot easier. If you ever forget your debit card at home or you don’t have it and need cash, there’s no need to panic. Now, you can withdraw money from many ATMs without a debit card. This facility is called cardless cash withdrawal. In this case, you can withdraw cash directly from the ATM using a UPI app.
This facility is quite useful for those who don’t always carry a debit card or don’t prefer digital payments. However, it is important to know some necessary conditions and precautions before using this facility.

What are the requirements for cardless cash withdrawal?
To avail this facility, your bank account must be linked to UPI and you must have a verified UPI app like Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm or BHIM on your mobile. Also, the ATM from which you are withdrawing money must have the option of cardless cash withdrawal or UPI cash withdrawal. You also need to have internet connectivity on your mobile, know your UPI PIN and have sufficient balance in your bank account.
ATM Cardless Cash Withdrawal Process
A QR code or a 6-digit code will appear on the ATM screen. Now, open the UPI app on your mobile and select the Scan QR or Cash Withdrawal option. Scan the QR code displayed on the screen, or if a code is provided, enter that code in the app.

Now, select the bank account from which the money will be withdrawn and enter the amount you want to withdraw. Generally, as per ATM and bank rules, you can withdraw from Rs 100 to Rs 10,000 at a time. Then, confirm the transaction by entering your UPI PIN.
As soon as the UPI transaction is successful, the cash will come out of the ATM. After withdrawing the money, take the receipt and keep the transaction message or notification on your mobile safe.
