If you are employed and PF (Provident Fund) is deducted from your salary, then this news is no less than a boon for you. EPFO (Employees Provident Fund Organization) has implemented some new rules at the beginning of the year 2025, which have brought great relief to millions of employees. EPFO has launched its new system, EPFO 3.0, in which many tremendous changes have been made. The main purpose of these changes is – Convenience, Speed , and Transparency. Now the work related to PF has become easier and faster than ever.
There will be no delay in claiming PF now
Earlier, when an employee wanted to withdraw PF, it used to take several days! One had to wait for 7 to 15 days and sometimes it took a lot of time for the document to be checked. But now in EPFO 3.0, the facility of “Auto Claim Settlement” has started. This means that now 95% of the claims will be automatically settled within just three days. That is, if you have made an online claim and everything is correct, then the money will come directly to your bank account, that too without any hassle. This is a revolutionary change that will save valuable time and energy for employees.
Now you can withdraw PF money from an ATM too
The biggest and surprising change in these changes is that now you will be able to withdraw your PF money from an ATM (Automated Teller Machine) too! Earlier, to withdraw PF, one had to apply online and then wait in the bank! But now, just like you withdraw money from your savings account through an ATM, EPFO is also going to give you this facility. After the claim is approved, you will be able to withdraw your PF money from any nearest ATM whenever you need it. This facility is very useful for those who suddenly need money. It will prove to be a lifesaver in emergencies.
Updating the PF profile is now child’s play
Now if there is any mistake related to name, date of birth, or gender in your PF account, then you can correct it yourself online. For this, you will not need to upload any document – just your UAN (Universal Account Number) should be linked to Aadhaar and verification will be done with the OTP (One Time Password) received on the mobile. This facility will provide great relief to millions of people because earlier getting this work done was very difficult and time-consuming. Now this process has become very simple and convenient.
No tension of PF transfer now
It is often seen that when an employee changes jobs, getting PF transferred becomes a big headache. Approval had to be taken from both the old and the new employer. But now this process has become completely automatic. If your UAN is linked to Aadhaar, then your PF will automatically be transferred to the new company’s account. That is, now there is no hassle of PF transfer on changing jobs. This is a great convenience for employees.
Pensioners also got a big relief
EPFO has also started the “Centralized Pension Payment System”, due to which now pensioners will be able to get their pension from any bank in the country. Earlier they had to go to the same bank from where the PPO (Pension Payment Order) was issued. Now the Digital Life Certificate is also deposited easily and there is no need for PPO Transfer. This change has brought a lot of relief, especially to the elderly. Now they will not have to wander anywhere for a pension.
Updating KYC is now very important

EPFO has also made it clear that now it is mandatory to update KYC for any kind of claim. If information like PAN (Permanent Account Number), Aadhaar, and Bank Details is not updated in your PF account, then your claim may be rejected. Therefore, if you have not updated your KYC yet, then get this work done as soon as possible! This will make your financial transactions safe and smooth.
The new EPFO mobile app will be launched soon
EPFO is going to launch a new mobile app very soon, in which all the facilities related to PF will be available in one place. Whether it is to make a claim, check your balance, or know the status of a transfer – everything will be available in this app. Apart from this, in the future, the facility of withdrawing PF through UPI (Unified Payments Interface) can also be started. That is, everything will become even easier and faster. This is another important step towards Digital India.
