Dont have to pay tax anymore! Do you know about the 10 second, 100 meter toll plaza rule?

Good news for FASTag users. There are so many prople who dont know that at FASTag you get many benefits and some tax is also saved. But there are some other benefits too, which you may not be aware of.

Why is a toll plan important?

Toll plazas play a key role in funding road construction and upkeep. They help keep our roads in good shape, making highways more accessible and safer for everyone compared to regular roads.

Many folks don’t realize the perks

When you hit the road in your own vehicle, using toll roads can be a breeze with FASTag. This handy tool makes toll payments super easy. A lot of people recharge their FASTag for this purpose, but many aren’t fully aware of how it works or its advantages. Knowing the rules can help you avoid unnecessary toll fees and save some cash.

What’s the 10-second rule all about?

The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) recently introduced a guideline about waiting times at toll booths. According to this rule, if your car is stuck in line for over 10 seconds, you can pass through without having to pay the toll.

100-meter rule

In addition to the 10-second waiting period, there’s another key guideline that everyone should keep in mind: the 100-meter waiting line rule. As per NHAI regulations, the queue at any toll plaza should not exceed 100 meters. If it does, toll fees cannot be charged from the vehicles in line. To help you identify this 100-meter mark, a yellow line is painted in each toll lane, which you can easily refer to.

If you encounter a situation where these rules are not being adhered to, you have every right to take action. Should the toll staff treat you unfairly or prevent you from proceeding despite the rules being violated, you can file a complaint by calling the toll-free number 1033.
