The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has launched a new housing scheme, the Karmayogi Awas Yojana, for serving and retired government employees across the country. The scheme aims to provide permanent, secure housing to government employees who have served for many years or are currently serving. The first phase of the scheme includes a total of 1,168 flats, which will be allotted on a first-come, first-served basis.

Which Employees Will Benefit from the Scheme?

This housing scheme is open to all serving and retired employees of the Central Government, State Governments, Public Sector Undertakings, Local Bodies, and Autonomous Institutions. The DDA has clarified that the scheme is not limited to any single department, so that as many government employees as possible can benefit from it. Eligible employees will also receive a special 25 percent discount on the purchase of flats.

Online Registration and Booking Process

According to the DDA, the online registration process for the Karmayogi Awas Yojana will begin on December 19th on the official website. A detailed brochure related to the scheme will also be made available on the same day. After registration, eligible employees will be able to book flats according to their category from January 14th. The allotment of flats will be done in a completely transparent manner on a first-come, first-served basis.

Why was this Housing Society Developed in Narela?

DDA officials say that most government employees are accustomed to living in group housing societies or government apartments. Keeping this need in mind, a modern group housing society dedicated to government employees has been developed in the Narela area. This project includes both serving and retired employees.

Where are these Flats Located?

All these flats are located in Sector A1 to A4 of Pocket-9 in Narela. A total of 1,168 new flats have been constructed in the entire society. These include three-bedroom flats for the High Income Group, two-bedroom flats for the Middle Income Group, and one-room flats. All flats are newly constructed and developed with modern amenities. The DDA has announced that serving and retired employees of Delhi Police, Delhi Municipal Corporation, CISF, CRPF, Delhi Government, and other state government services can apply online under this scheme. All eligible employees will be entitled to register and book flats under the prescribed procedure.

Expected Flat Prices

According to the DDA, the final prices of the flats will be announced at the formal launch of the scheme. However, it is estimated that 2BHK flats may be priced at Rs. 1 crore or more, while 3BHK flats are likely to cost upwards of Rs. 2 crore.

Scheme to be Expanded Further

The DDA has indicated that this scheme will not be limited to the first phase only. In subsequent phases, approximately 3,500 flats in other pockets and sectors of Narela will be included in this housing scheme. Currently, the registration and booking process is being initiated for 1,168 flats in the first phase.
