Farm Machinery Subsidy: The Uttar Pradesh government has taken a significant step to connect small and marginal farmers with modern farming techniques and reduce the problem of stubble burning in the fields. At the beginning of the new year, the state government is offering farmers the gift of modern agricultural machinery. Under the Uttar Pradesh Agriculture Department’s Sub-Mission on Agricultural Mechanization scheme, farmers are being offered attractive subsidies on agricultural equipment to make farming easier and reduce costs.

Applications for purchasing agricultural machinery at subsidized rates under the Agricultural Mechanization Sub-Mission scheme have started from January 8, 2026. Interested farmers can apply until January 21, 2026.

Special Focus on Crop Residue Management
Stubble burning harms both the environment and the soil. To prevent this, the government is providing subsidies on agricultural machinery related to crop residue management. The use of these machines will allow for proper management of crop residues left in the fields, eliminating the need for burning.

Which Machines are Eligible for Subsidy?
Under the Sub-Mission on Agricultural Mechanization scheme, subsidies will be provided on Farm Machinery Banks, Custom Hiring Centers, High-Tech Hubs for Custom Hiring, agricultural drones, and other individual agricultural implements. In addition, under the In-Situ Crop Residue Management scheme, subsidies will be available for machinery related to crop residue management and Custom Hiring Centers. Furthermore, under the Accelerated Maize Development Program, subsidies are also provided for equipment such as batch dryers, maize shellers, and popping machines.

How Much Subsidy Will Be Provided?
The state government is providing up to 50 percent subsidy to farmers on the purchase of agricultural machinery. This will not only reduce the cost of farming but also help in maintaining soil fertility.

How to Apply

Farmers must apply for agricultural machinery on the official website of the Agriculture Department, agridarshan.up.gov.in. On the website, farmers need to go to the “Farmer Corner” and click on the “Start Machinery Booking” option. Beneficiaries will be selected through an e-lottery process.
Token Money System

Farmers will have to deposit token money online, depending on the price of the agricultural machinery and the subsidy amount. For machinery with a subsidy of ₹10,000 to ₹1 lakh, a deposit of ₹2,500 is required. For machinery with a subsidy of more than ₹1 lakh, a token money deposit of ₹5,000 is required.
Who Can Avail the Scheme?

According to the Agriculture Department, only those farmers who have already registered on the departmental portal will be eligible for this scheme. After completing the registration, farmers can select agricultural machinery according to their needs and priorities.
