Big news for women’s, Invest in this scheme and earn up to 2 lakhs! 

From time to time, the central government comes up with a variety of schemes for women. While presenting Budget 2023, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman launched a special scheme of Mahila Samman Bachat Yojana. This scheme has been specially designed according to the needs of women.

Minister of State for Finance Pankaj Chaudhary said on Monday that 43 lakh new depositors across the country have been added to this small savings scheme. Let us tell you that a savings certificate is given in this scheme, in which interest is received in compounding.

Maharashtra became number 1

If we look at the data of the Mahila Samman Bachat Yojana, in the last few years, the highest number of women have been associated with this scheme in Maharashtra. As per government data, 7,46,223 women have opened accounts under the scheme in Maharashtra. At the same time, 5,47,675 accounts have been opened in Tamil Nadu and 4,16,989 in Odisha. In Karnataka and Uttar Pradesh, 2,93,007 and 2,69,532 accounts have been opened. Also, 2,54,777 accounts have been opened in West Bengal.

Who can take advantage of the scheme?

 

Any woman can take advantage of the Women Honor Savings Scheme. If a minor’s account is opened, it is opened in the name of the guardian and transferred after the completion of 18 years of age. A maximum of Rs 2 lakh can be deposited in this scheme in a lump sum. There is also an option of partial withdrawal, and this scheme offers a fixed interest rate of 7.5%.

Rural women also joined the scheme

The scheme was introduced by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in the February 2023 budget. The intention of the government behind launching this scheme is to give financial independence to women. Let us tell you that rural women are also taking advantage of the Mahila Samman Yojana. Also, women in cities are investing in this scheme.
