Bank Holidays 26 January: Are you planning to go to the bank tomorrow, Monday 26 January 2026, to get your work done? Banks are going to remain closed across the country tomorrow, Monday. The reason is India’s biggest national festival, i.e. National Holiday Republic Day. Like every year, this time too 26 January will be a public holiday. Meaning, all government and private bank branches will remain closed. In such a situation, cash counters, cheque clearance, draft, passbook update and other branch related work will not be possible. However, digital services like ATM, UPI, mobile banking and net banking will remain operational.

Banking services will remain closed across the country on Republic Day, when India will celebrate its 77th Republic Day.

January 27, 2026 (Tuesday – Tentative)

If the proposed strike by bank employees takes place, bank branches will not open on this day also.

Online banking services will remain operational
