Bank Holiday Today:- Every year, there is a holiday on Muharram in India. The Muslim community celebrates the Muharram Festival with great pomp and ceremony. There is confusion among the people about the day of Muharram. People were in confusion whether the Muharram holiday would be on July 6 or July 7? The auspicious day of Muharram depends on the position of the moon. The date of Muharram is determined by the sighting of the moon, based on the Islamic calendar. The 10th day of Muharram, i.e., Ashura, was celebrated on July 6, 2025. However, in some states, July 7, 2025 (Monday) has also been declared a public holiday.

Will banks remain closed today?

According to the Islamic calendar, the Muharram festival was celebrated yesterday, on June 6. Therefore, on June 7, all private and government banks across the country will remain open as usual. This weekend, banks in India were closed due to Guru Hargobind Ji’s birthday on Saturday and a compulsory weekly holiday on Sunday.

When will banks remain closed in July?

July 14- On this day, the Behdienkhlam festival will be celebrated in Meghalaya. Due to this, all the banks in Meghalaya will remain closed.

July 16 – On this day, the Harela festival will be celebrated in Uttarakhand, so all banks will remain closed.

July 17 – All private and government banks in Meghalaya will remain closed on the occasion of U Tirot’s death anniversary.

July 19 – All banks in Tripura will remain closed on this day due to Ker Puja.

July 28- On this day, the Drukpa Tse-ji festival will be celebrated in Sikkim. Therefore, there will be a bank holiday.
