Attention HDFC Credit Card Users! This Rules Changing From February 1

HDFC Bank: HDFC Bank is updating the guidelines for its premium Infinia Metal credit card. Starting February 1, 2026, the bank has stated that reward points earned on this card can now be utilized a maximum of five times each month. There was earlier talk about possibly raising this limit to three, but for now, it remains at five. This update is especially significant for those who often use reward points for flights, hotel reservations, Apple products, or jewelry purchases. Let’s dive into the details of this story.

To break it down simply, you earn 5 reward points for every Rs 150 spent with the Infinia card. If you shop or book through HDFC Bank’s SmartBuy platform, you can rack up to 10 times more points. However, there is a cap on how much you can redeem. You can redeem up to Rs 200,000 worth of reward points in a single statement cycle. For flights, hotels, and airmiles, the monthly limit is Rs 1,500,000.

You can pay up to 70% of the total bill with points if you’re buying Apple products or Tanishq vouchers. The rest needs to be settled with your card. Additionally, you can redeem up to 50,000 reward points against your statement balance each month. It’s also crucial to note that if you don’t use your card for 365 days, your accumulated reward points might expire.

HDFC Bank has introduced a new rule for its debit card users as well. Beginning January 10, 2026, customers who spend a total of Rs 10,000 or more over three months will receive a link via SMS or email for airport lounge access. By clicking that link, you can claim the voucher.

What’s the Infinia Metal Credit Card all about?

Just so you know, the Infinia Metal credit card isn’t available to everyone. It’s an exclusive invite-only card. The bank picks and chooses which customers get it. When you get the card, you’ll score 12,500 reward points as a welcome gift. But keep in mind, this card isn’t free. There’s a joining fee of Rs 12,500 and you’ll also need to pay a renewal fee of Rs 12,500 each year. All in all, with this update, HDFC Bank is looking to simplify the rewards system, making it easier to use the card effectively.
