A notification has already been issued by the Calcutta High Court in this regard, where it has been informed that if this person is present in the court, the traffic challan will be waived or reduced. How will you get benefits in Lok Adalat?
Let us inform you that before going to Lok Adalat, you must apply online. However, for this, you will get an option called Apply Online by going to the official website of the National Legal Service Authority. If you click there, the application form will appear. There you have to upload personal information, details of the case and information about why you are applying to the Lok Adalat. After filling all the information and submitting it, you will receive a confirmation mail and token number. You can take an appointment to the Lok Adalat on the specified day with that token number.
However, before going to the Lok Adalat, you must carry some documents with you. Notable among them are a copy of the e-challan, vehicle registration certificate or RC, your driving license, Aadhaar card or voter ID card as an identity card. And if there is a court notice, then you will also have to take it and you will need the receipt of the old challan and the authorization letter.
When and where will the Lok Adalat be held?
According to the official notification issued by the Calcutta High Court, it is known that the first Lok Adalat of 2026 will be held on Saturday, March 14 at 10:30 am. And this Lok Adalat will be held on the premises of the Calcutta High Court. It has been informed that through this, the cases can be settled and the challan can be dismissed. Incidentally, the High Court has also informed that the National Lok Adalat or National Lok Adalat will be held under the Centenary Building until 5 pm on Monday, March 2, 2026. The case can also be settled from there.
Let us say that after submitting the application to the Lok Adalat, the judges and lawyers there will examine all your documents. If all the documents are in order, then your case will be settled on the same day. And usually the fine amount is reduced slightly in the Lok Adalat. That is, you do not have to pay the full amount, your case will be settled by paying some part of the amount.
