India’s leading telecom company, Bharti Airtel, has made a big change for its customers. The company on Wednesday discontinued its most affordable and popular prepaid recharge pack of Rs 249. This pack was known as the entry-level plan and offered customers high-speed internet, unlimited calling, and free SMS daily at a low price.

Plan removed from Airtel Thanks App
This Rs 249 plan of the company is no longer available on the Airtel Thanks App. When users search for this pack, an alert message appears that its price has been changed. This pack used to get a validity of 24 days and included 1GB data daily, unlimited calls, and daily 100 SMS. For this reason, it was counted among the most popular recharge options among the customers.
Now you will have to pay 50 rupees more
Instead of the Rs 249 prepaid pack, customers will now have to take a new basic plan of Rs 299. After the price hike of Rs 50, it has now become Airtel’s cheapest data pack. However, customers will also get some additional benefits from this. The Rs 299 pack is offering a validity of 28 days, while all other benefits are the same as before.
Jio and Airtel discontinued their cheap packs
Before Airtel, Jio also removed a similar budget-friendly Rs 249 Truly Unlimited plan. This pack of Jio came with a validity of 28 days and 1.5 GB data per day. But now both the major companies have removed this affordable plan from their portfolio. As a result, customers will now have to buy expensive packs. A plan of Rs 445 is available in Jio, which offers 28 days of validity and 2GB data per day.

Vi becomes the only option
Currently, Vodafone Idea, i.e., Vi, is the only telecom operator that is still offering a prepaid recharge pack of Rs 249. In such a situation, customers looking for an affordable pack can currently opt for Vi.
