Aadhaar Services Reach Villages, Ending Bank Visits

Aadhaar Card Village : Great news for folks living in rural Uttar Pradesh! You no longer have to trek to city banks or post offices to get your Aadhaar card made or updated. The state government is rolling out Aadhaar services right at the village panchayat level. This means rural women, men, and kids can skip the long lines and save a ton of time.

This initiative kicked off in Lucknow, and now villagers can enjoy the ease of making and updating Aadhaar cards without leaving their villages. Soon, this service will be available all over the state.

Villagers used to deal with these issues

They often had to head to the main post office or bank super early to grab tokens. Then, they’d have to come back on the scheduled date, which meant waiting for hours in long lines. Elderly folks and kids were caught up in this too, making it a real hassle for them. Even for small fixes, a trip to the city was necessary, wasting time, money, and energy.

This scheme started in Lucknow. Aadhaar centers have been set up in Gram Panchayat ‘Bhatgawan Pandey’ of Sarojininagar Block and Gram Panchayat ‘Sairpur’ of Chinhat Block. Now, villagers can make and correct their Aadhaar cards right in their own village, saving both time and money.

Plans for state-wide expansion:

The Panchayati Raj Department has laid out a plan to expand this scheme throughout the state. In the first phase, Aadhaar services will launch in 1,000 Gram Panchayats. Eventually, it will reach 57,694 Gram Panchayats across the state. The goal is to make it easy for rural residents to create and update their Aadhaar cards right in their villages.

Role of Panchayat Assistants

Panchayat assistants have been given the responsibility to carry out Aadhaar work properly in the villages. Till now, training has been provided to more than 800 Panchayat Assistants. These assistants will help the villagers with digital equipment and training. Their aim is to provide easy and convenient Aadhaar services to the villagers.

Beneficial for the villagers

With this initiative, the people of rural areas will not need to stand in long queues and go to the city. This scheme is an important step towards simplifying rural life and providing the benefits of government schemes in the villages itself.
