Aadhaar PAN Linking Process: Today, both Aadhaar and PAN are crucial documents. Just like Aadhaar, the PAN card has gained significant importance. Without a PAN card, you won’t be able to carry out any financial transactions. The government has made it mandatory to link these two documents. If someone fails to link them, they will be restricted from accessing various financial services.

How to pay the penalty for Aadhaar PAN Linking?

To begin, visit the Income Tax e-filing portal.
Next, enter your PAN number or TAN number.
Then, you will need to provide your mobile number and click on the Continue option.
After verifying the OTP, you will be taken to the e-pay tax page. Here, click on the Continue button.
Now, select the Proceed option within the Income Tax section.
Choose 2025-26 as the Tax Year and select Other Receipts (500) as the Type of Payment. In this manner, select the Fees for delay in linking PAN with Aadhaar option in the Subtype of payment and click Continue.
The penalty amount will be automatically filled in the Other option. Simply click Continue to finalize the payment.

Now, let’s see how you can link Aadhaar and PAN


Step 1- First, navigate to the Income Tax e-filing portal. If you haven’t registered yet, complete the registration process.

Step 2- Now log in by entering your user ID and password.

Step 3- Click on the Link Aadhaar option on the website or in the Personal Details section of My Profile, where you will find the Link Aadhaar option.

Step 4- Enter your Aadhaar number and click on the Validate button.

Step 5- Finally, you will receive a message confirming that your Aadhaar has been linked to your PAN.

The request to link your Aadhaar and PAN will be sent to the UIDAI. The UIDAI will process this request, and your PAN will be reactivated within 7 to 30 days.
