Yamaha XSR155 India – There are some motorcycles in the world of bikes that connect at heart at first glance. Yamaha XSR155 is one of them. This bike is brought for riders who want sporty performance, but also find a little classic touch in the look.
Recently launched in India, this Neo-Retro roadster got a chance to run in both city and highway conditions for about 300 kilometers. During this time many strong aspects of it were revealed. So let’s know in detail how Yamaha XSR155 is.
Design and Build Quality
First of all, its design is the biggest strength of the Yamaha XSR155. This bike gives a Neo-Retro look without much appearances. Round LED headlamps, single-pod instrument consoles and solo taillamps give it a clean and premium identity. The 3D logo on the fuel tank and the metal garnish on the subframe under the seat make it more special.
Aluminum headlamp holders and clean subframe design are evidence that Yamaha has paid good attention to quality. However, the switchgear gives a little budget feel. The placement of the rocker type button and horn-indicator, especially given for high beam flash, may seem a bit strange at the beginning.
Seating Position and Comfort
The riding stance of the Yamaha XSR155 is neither as aggressive as the R15 nor as tight as the MT-15. It gives a natural and romantic position, which reduces fatigue even in long rides. The wide handlebar and light forward helps keep the lean bike under control.
The 810mm seat height is a bit much, but the light weight of 137kg makes it easy to handle at low-speed. This does not become a major problem for average height riders, but small height riders may have to adjust a bit while stopping in traffic.

Suspension and Handling
XSR155 is built on the same steel perimeter frame and aluminum swingarm as found in the Yamaha R15 and MT-15. This is why its handling is quite fun. The bike is light, agile and easily changing direction in traffic.
Bike remains stable up to 120–125 km / h on the highway and gives good confidence on the curves. The wide tires maintain a superb grip. Front suspension does its job well, but rear suspension seems a bit hard. Shocks from behind feel more on bad roads and speed breakers.

Braking and Safety
its Braking setup includes 282mm front and 220mm rear disc brakes, along with dual-channel ABS and traction control. Traction control can be disabled if needed.
The front brake feels good and reliable, but the rear brake can feel a bit weak on some models. This isn’t necessarily the case on every bike, but it’s wise to pay attention to it during test rides.
Engine, Performance and Mileage
Yamaha XSR155 gets the same 155cc liquid-cooled engine used in Yamaha’s sporty bikes. This engine generates power of 18.4 PS and torque of 14.2 Nm. In the city, this engine runs very smooth and does not shock even at low-speed.
Its performance in third gear is particularly fun. After 7000 rpm on the highway the engine becomes more energetic and pulls comfortably up to 10,000 rpm. Talking about mileage, the real-world got an average of around 48 kmpl, which is quite good according to this segment.
Features
XSR155 offers features such as full LED lighting, color LCD display, Y-Connect Bluetooth connectivity, VVA technology, dual-channel ABS and traction control. It does not have a TFT display or quickshifter with R15 V4, but given the price, this agreement seems legitimate.
Price
If it comes to its price, the X-showroom price of Yamaha XSR155 in India has been kept at around Rs 1.50 lakh. It is the cheapest bike in Yamaha’s 155cc lineup and in many cases also competes with larger engine bikes. The balance of style, performance and mileage make it a strong package.
