Yamaha RayZR: Yamaha has established a big reputation for itself in India’s two-wheeler market with its fashionable scooters and high-end bikes. In May 2025, however, Yamaha’s overall sales missed the mark. The company retailed 46,086 units, down 34.37% from 70,222 units sold in May last year. There was a slight decrease of 1.58% compared to April 2025, when it had retailed 46,826 units. Nevertheless, its RayZR scooter gained a great deal of interest from customers and emerged as the best-selling Yamaha model of the month.
RayZR Sales Performance
RayZR led the pack with sales of 13,023 units, being Yamaha’s best-selling scooter last month. Although this was a success, it fell by 34% compared to last year and 8% compared to the previous month. Its affordable price of ₹86,340 keeps it in favor for consumers, but overall figures indicate Yamaha could do with new offers in order to maintain its position in the market.
Yamaha FZ and R15 Have Mixed Results
Yamaha’s FZ series was close behind RayZR, with 12,979 units sold. That was still a 9.6% drop over last year, and a 3.7% decline from April. The R15 bike experienced a larger year-on-year decline of 42%, with 5,997 units sold. But month on month, R15 registered a strong growth of 22%, demonstrating that it is still in favor among young consumers.
MT-15 and Other Models
MT-15 clocked 7,034 units of sales in the last month. Even though that was 51% down from May 2024, it was able to grow marginally by 0.13% from April’s figures. Aerox 155, on the other hand, did well, defying the declining trend. Aerox retailed 1,760 units with 5% annual growth and 18% monthly growth, emerging as a highlight of Yamaha’s portfolio.
Slower Sales for Fascino and Flagship Bikes
Fascino scooter also did not perform any better, with 5,251 units being sold, which was down compared to last year as well as the previous month. Out of Yamaha’s top-of-the-line premium bikes such as R3 and MT-03, only 42 units were moved, indicating there is still effort that needs to be put to increase their numbers in the market.
What Yamaha Needs to Improve
May 2025 figures indicate that Yamaha needs to concentrate on new launches and innovative offers to stay in the Indian market. Popular models such as RayZR and FZ are recording slower sales than previously, while Aerox 155 indicates that new options will stimulate customers. Yamaha can do better if it capitalizes on such good models while promoting offers to lure more customers.
