Skoda India is giving the Slavia a major makeover as part of its expansion strategy. Recently released images indicate that the upcoming model will feature a host of changes that will make it even more modern and luxurious than the current car. The company has added several impressive updates to its exterior and cabin, largely inspired by the recently discussed Kushaq facelift.

Exterior

The most significant change to the new Slavia’s exterior will be seen in its front end. The company has now given its grille a sleeker and cleaner design. The front bumper and headlight setup have also been redesigned to make it appear more aggressive and premium on the road.

At the rear, you can now find connected LED tail lamps, and the emblazoned Skoda logo will further enhance its regal feel. Skoda may also introduce new alloy wheels and some attractive new color options to give it a fresh look.

Cabin and Features

Step inside the car and you’ll be greeted with a high-tech atmosphere, as Skoda has meticulously redesigned its dashboard and comfort features. It will feature a large 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 10.25-inch fully digital driver display with navigation support.

The biggest surprises this time around are the car’s engine and transmission. Skoda is preparing to add a new 8-speed torque converter automatic gearbox to its 1.0-liter turbo petrol engine. This engine produces 116 PS of power and 178 Nm of torque.

The new 8-speed unit will replace the old 6-speed automatic, making gear shifting smoother than ever. For those who prefer to shift gears themselves, the option of a 6-speed manual gearbox will continue. For speed enthusiasts, the powerful 1.5-liter engine producing 150 PS, paired with a 7-speed DSG gearbox, will remain.

Features like six airbags, electronic stability control, hill hold control, and traction control will be standard.
