The highlight of the Maruti Fronx E85 FFV is its flex-fuel technology, designed with future needs in mind. Ethanol is a plant-based, environmentally friendly fuel, and when mixed with petrol at a whopping 85 percent, it acts as a powerful tonic for the engine. E85 fuel has an octane rating of approximately 100 to 110, which is significantly higher than regular petrol.
This high octane rating means the engine will run very smoothly and quietly, giving you a powerful power delivery while driving. Furthermore, ethanol produces significantly lower carbon emissions upon combustion, which not only reduces pollution but also reduces wear on the engine’s internal components, making it more durable than a regular petrol engine.
Updated Engine and Performance
The new Fronx E85 uses a modernized and updated version of its trusted 1.2-liter petrol engine, specifically designed for flex-fuel use. Maruti previously showcased a brief glimpse of such an engine in the WagonR Flex-Fuel Concept, but the Fronx has made it even more refined and responsive.
Although the company hasn’t yet officially revealed its exact power and torque figures, auto experts believe that due to the clean combustion of ethanol, this engine will generate better torque than the standard petrol model. Maruti has also made several significant changes to its fuel system and injection mechanism to ensure it runs stably for years without any lag on cheap fuel.
Design and Modern Features
In terms of looks, the new Fronx E85 will look just as rugged and premium as the current Fronx on the road. Its front profile features the same signature wave-style grille and sharp LED DRLs, giving it a sporty SUV feel.
