Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) announced a significant 19.43% year-on-year fall in domestic sales in June 2025, with the overall units sold falling to 3,88,812 from 4,82,597 in June 2024. In comparison with May 2025, sales also fell by 6.8%. Nevertheless, two Honda models—Activa and Shine—were able to keep the brand afloat with good market demand.
Activa Remains Sales Champion
In June 2025, Honda Activa continued to rule with 1,83,265 units of sales. While this is 21.47% less than last year, it still represents 47.13% of Honda’s two-wheeler sales. Activa continued to be way ahead of other models such as TVS Jupiter, solidifying its status as Honda’s best-selling scooter in India.
Shine Series Consistency
Combined sales of Honda Shine 125 and SP125 totaled 1,34,817 units. Despite a slight 3.42% decline, this series accounted for more than 35% of the total portfolio of Honda. Together, Activa and Shine models constituted an enormous 82% of the company’s overall domestic sales in June, testifying to their unparalleled customer confidence.
Other Models Disappoint
Whereas Activa and Shine did not waver, the other models experienced steep falls. The Dio registered a decline of 25.49% with sales of 24,278 units. Shine 100 sales dropped dramatically by 63.61%, and Livo recorded a decline of 53.51%. SP160 and Hornet 2.0 also faced the heat, with sales down by 66.56% and 55.63% respectively.
CB350 Gains in Premium Segment
The sole bright spot for Honda was the CB350. Its year-on-year sales increased by a whopping 103.36% in June 2025, selling 2,361 units. This indicates increasing consumer demand for higher-end two-wheelers and gives Honda hope for the upper-end market space.
Quarterly Sales Reflect Mixed Performance
Honda’s combined sales during April to June 2025 were 12,28,993 units, down by 13.10% compared to the corresponding quarter of last year. But during this time, the Shine 125 and SP125 range witnessed an 11.54% rise in sales, reflecting sustained demand for specific models even in the context of overall slowdown.
