If you’re a fan of adventure and long rides, Honda’s new offering is sure to make your journey even easier. Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) has now introduced its powerful adventure tourer, the Honda NX500, in India with revolutionary E-Clutch technology.
Priced at ₹7.44 lakh (ex-showroom), this bike now offers the freedom to shift gears without touching the clutch lever, significantly reducing rider fatigue in heavy traffic and on rough terrain. This blend of Japanese engineering and modern technology is a great gift for those who don’t want to compromise between speed and comfort.
What is the Honda NX500 E-Clutch?

Honda’s new E-Clutch technology represents a major change in the world of motorcycles. It utilizes two electronic actuators that automatically control the clutch during gear changes. The key feature is that this system continues to function even when the bike comes to a complete stop or resumes speed. This means you no longer need to press the clutch lever when changing gears.
However, riders will still have the option to operate the bike the traditional way. If you prefer ‘manual’ riding, you can use the clutch lever and gear pedal as on a regular bike. With the addition of this new system, the bike’s overall weight has increased by 3 kg to 199 kg. The company recently introduced this feature to its premium bikes, the CB650R and CBR650R, but they are currently unavailable for sale.
Powerful Engine and Performance
While the clutch system has been modernized, the heart of the Honda NX500 remains as strong and reliable. It is powered by a 471cc twin-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that produces 47 hp of power at 8,500 rpm and 43 Nm of torque at 6,500 rpm. It features a 6-speed transmission, slightly modified to better coordinate with the e-clutch.
The speed and torque of this adventure tourer make it an excellent machine for both mountain climbs and city roads. Its liquid-cooled system ensures that the engine remains cool and delivers consistently strong performance even during long journeys.

Design and Hardware
Honda has not made any changes to the design and structure of the NX500, as its current look is already impressive and sporty. For better grip on rough terrain, it features sturdy 19-inch front and 17-inch rear alloy wheels. For shock absorption, it features upside-down (USD) forks at the front and a monoshock suspension at the rear.
For safety, it features a dual-channel ABS. The front wheel features 296mm twin disc brakes using Nissin calipers, while the rear wheel features a single 240mm disc brake. The bike features a 5-inch color TFT display and simple switchgear, making it easy to read important information while riding.
