Weather Warning: Weather across several states is set to change once again, and an alert regarding rainfall has been issued for numerous states over the next three days. An alert has been issued for North India—including Delhi, Punjab, and Haryana—warning of heavy rainfall, storms, and lightning over the next five days. There is also a possibility of hailstorms in Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh on May 11 and 12, and in Uttarakhand on May 12 and 13.
The Patna Meteorological Centre has reported that an alert has been issued for several parts of the state regarding strong winds, rain, and thunderstorms. A low-pressure area is likely to develop over the southwest Bay of Bengal within the next 48 hours. Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department has issued an alert for several states across the country due to severe heatwave conditions.
Alerts regarding heatwaves at isolated places have been issued for Western Rajasthan and Gujarat during May 10–14; for Eastern Rajasthan during May 10–13; and for Western Madhya Pradesh during May 12–14, 2026.
Alert Issued for These Districts of Bihar
According to the Patna Meteorological Centre, there is a likelihood of strong winds, rain accompanied by thunder, and lightning strikes in several areas of the Bhabhua and Rohtas districts. Wind speeds could reach between 50 and 60 kilometres per hour. Conditions resembling a severe storm may be witnessed. The Adhaura, Kudra, Chainpur, and Rampur areas of Bhabhua, along with the Dehri, Sasaram, and Shivsagar areas of Rohtas, are likely to be the most affected.

Regarding North India, the Meteorological Department has issued an alert for moderate rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds in Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, and Delhi between May 11 and 14. Additionally, rainfall is likely to be recorded in Western Uttar Pradesh on May 12–13, Eastern UP on May 13–14, and Rajasthan on May 11–12. An alert has also been issued for Himachal Pradesh due to the possibility of heavy rainfall between May 11 and 15.

An alert has been issued for Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal, anticipating heavy rainfall at isolated places over the next 7 days. Additionally, a Low-Pressure Area is likely to form over the Southwest Bay of Bengal during the next 48 hours.
Rainfall in Northeast India
– Light to moderate rainfall, accompanied by lightning and gusty winds, is likely in Assam and Meghalaya between May 12 and 14; in Tripura on May 10; and in Arunachal Pradesh on May 12 and 13.
– Heavy rainfall is expected at isolated places in Arunachal Pradesh on May 14; in Meghalaya on May 11; in Assam and Meghalaya between May 13 and 16; and in Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura on May 15 and 16.
Rainfall in East India
– Light to moderate rainfall is likely in Bihar, Odisha, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, and Sikkim between May 11 and 14. In Gangetic West Bengal, rainfall is expected on May 11. Furthermore, between May 11 and 16, light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, and strong winds is likely in Jharkhand.
