SpaceX, owned by the world’s wealthiest individual Elon Musk, has acquired an AI company. The purchase is creating a buzz as the parent company of the AI coding platform ‘Cursor,’ Anysphere, was bought by Musk for $60 billion (about Rs 5 lakh crore) and is co-owned by two young men of Asian descent, aged 25 and 26. This acquisition has turned two Asian tech entrepreneurs into billionaires overnight.
Aman Sangar, a 25-year-old of Indian descent, and Sualeh Asif, a 26-year-old from Karachi, Pakistan, are set to each receive around Rs 22,500 crore (approximately $2.25 billion) following the deal. The deal came about because Aman Sangar and Sualeh Asif each have a 4.5% stake in the parent company of Cursor, Enisphere. With SpaceX’s significant investment, their stake has been valued at $2.7 billion. The deal is an all-stock transaction, meaning Aman and Asif will receive SpaceX shares rather than cash, making them major shareholders in Musk’s company.
Cursor is an advanced AI-driven coding platform that supports “vibe coding,” enabling developers to write code quickly and easily using artificial intelligence.
How did this massive deal happen?
Aman Sangar and Sualeh Asif each hold approximately 4.5% stake in Cursor’s parent company, Enisphere. According to a Forbes report, after SpaceX’s significant investment, their stake is valued at $2.7 billion. What is Cursor and how did it originate?
Cursor is a high-tech, AI-powered coding platform that allows software developers to use “vibe coding.” It enables developers to write code quickly and easily using artificial intelligence. Today, millions of developers worldwide, as well as major companies like Nvidia, Adobe, Uber, Shopify, and PayPal, use Cursor. The company was founded in 2022 by four friends: Aman Sangar, Sualeh Asif, Michael Truell, and Arvind Lunemark. They met while studying at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). The deal will also generate $2.7 billion for the other two co-founders (Michael and Arvind).
Cursor’s valuation was $29.5 billion after raising $2.3 billion in funding in November 2025, a figure that has more than doubled after this acquisition. Let us tell you, SpaceX had partnered with it in April 2026 and had then secured the option to buy it for $60 billion, which has now been finalized.
