In such a situation, good news is coming for the students of UP. The state government is set to launch a scheme to provide free scooters to students. The scheme is named Rani Laxmibai Scooty Scheme. Preparations are almost complete, and details of eligible students are also being sought from colleges. Thousands of students may soon benefit from this scheme. It is said that the scheme’s eligibility is under discussion.

According to preliminary discussions, free scooters are being considered for students who score 80 per cent or above in their first year of undergraduate studies. The annual income limit for his family is being considered fixed at Rs 10 lakh to Rs 12 lakh. In the first phase, preparations are underway to provide petrol scooters to meritorious students.

Which students will be selected?
Preparations are underway to give free scooters to about 45,000 students in the initial phase. The Department of Higher Education has sought data from universities and degree colleges on female students who have scored more than 80, 85, or 90 per cent marks in the first year of their undergraduate degree. Students will be selected on the basis of merit. It is believed that in the first phase, final-year students may get priority.

What will be the required conditions?
The benefit of this scheme will be available only to those students whose annual family income is less than Rs 12 lakh.
The student must also be a permanent resident of Uttar Pradesh.
The student should be pursuing an undergraduate or graduate course at a recognised university or college.

These documents will be required
Documents like Aadhaar card, residence certificate, income certificate, admission certificate, 10th and 12th marksheet, bank account information, passport-size photo, and mobile number will be required for the scheme.
