What is the Home Enrollment Service by UIDAI?

Who is eligible for this service?

It is for individuals who cannot go to an Aadhaar center, such as senior citizens, bedridden patients, and disabled individuals.

How much is the fee?

How to request the service?

Call 1947 or email the required documents to the regional UIDAI office. Once approved, an operator will visit your home within 7 to 15 days to complete the biometric process. Once your request is approved by the regional office, the work is assigned to your nearest registrar or Aadhaar center. An operator will then visit your provided address within 7 to 15 days to complete the entire process.

According to UIDAI, this service will be available starting July 1, 2026. Fortunately, there will be no charge for adding or updating your email address for the next six months. This means that people can update their Aadhaar email address without any fees during this period. According to UIDAI, more than 2.5 lakh people have added or updated their email IDs in Aadhaar within just two days of the service’s launch. This clearly demonstrates the rapid adoption of digital services.

The biggest benefit of linking your Aadhaar with your email address is security. Whenever your Aadhaar is authenticated anywhere, the information will be immediately sent to your email. This will also help you quickly find out if someone uses your Aadhaar without your permission. UIDAI stated that the new Aadhaar app already offers several services. More than 4 million people have updated their mobile numbers through the app so far. More than 1 million people have also updated their addresses in their Aadhaar cards from home.
