New Delhi: Mukul Roy, the Chanakya of West Bengal politics, former Railway Minister and TMC leader, has passed away. He had been ill for some time and was undergoing treatment at a Kolkata hospital. Roy’s son, Subhrangshu Roy, confirmed his father’s death, stating that he suffered a heart attack at 1:30 a.m. last night and could not be saved.
His death is being considered a major blow to West Bengal and the TMC. He served the people through politics for a long time and was always present.

Roy was Mamata Banerjee’s saviour.
Senior West Bengal leader Mukul Roy, who passed away at the age of 71, was always available to the public. Furthermore, he served as Mamata Banerjee’s right-hand man for a long time. Whenever the TMC was stuck on any issue, it was Mukul Roy who acted as the saviour and steered it through. He also devised election strategies for the TMC.
Senior politician and former Railway Minister Mukul Roy passed away on Monday. He breathed his last in a Kolkata hospital. It is reported that Mukul Roy had been battling various ailments for a long time, particularly a serious nerve problem.

Speaking to the Indian Express, Mukul Roy’s son, Subhrangshu Roy, explained that Roy had been battling multiple ailments simultaneously. As his condition worsened, he was admitted to a private hospital, but his complications continued to worsen. Ultimately, the team of doctors could not save him.
