TVS Jupiter CNG – World’s first CNG scooter, Know Price, mileage, and full details

TVS Jupiter CNG – The two-wheeler market in India sees something new every year, but this time the story is a bit different. Now it’s CNG’s turn after Electric. And TVS Jupiter CNG has taken a big step in this direction. The company has introduced it as a concept and claimed that it may be the first CNG scooter in the world. So let’s tell you the complete details.

TVS Jupiter CNG

TVS has created this new CNG model based on the Jupiter platform itself. That is, design, ergonomics and features are largely the same as Jupiter 125.

It is currently in concept stage, but may launch by December 2026 if it comes in production. Its estimated price can be between ₹90,000 to ₹1,00,000. If this price turns out to be correct, it could make a big change in the CNG segment.

CNG tank and petrol

Jupiter CNG’s biggest feature is its fuel setup. A 1.4 kg CNG tank is given under the seat. It is covered with plastic panel, and is given to show a small view-port pressure gauge. However, CNG tanks eliminate under-seat storage. That is, boot space will not be found.

Also, a 2 liter petrol tank is also provided on the floorboard, whose filler nozzle is in the front apron exactly like the Jupiter 125. TVS claims that this scooter can run up to 84 kilometers in 1 kg CNG. A total range of about 226 kilometers can be found, including CNG and petrol.

Engine

If it talks about its engine, TVS Jupiter CNG has a single-cylinder engine of 124.8cc. This engine gives torque of 7.1 bhp @ 6000 rpm and 9.4 Nm @ 5500 rpm. Its top speed is being stated to be around 80 kmph.

It is not a racing machine, but is fully capable of everyday travel. It is tuned to give smooth and stable rides to the city streets.

Design and Features

Design, wheels, brakes and ergonomics are largely the same as the Petrol Jupiter 125. That is, the same comfortable seat, the same familiar look and the same handling. TVS has retained a previously successful design rather than taking risks here.

Price and Launch

Talking about the launch, the official launch date has not been confirmed yet. But it is estimated that it can be launched in the market by December 2026.

A potential price of ₹90,000 to ₹1,00,000 may make it a budget-friendly option. If it comes to the production model, it may prove beneficial for those who want less fuel spending but do not want to shift completely on Electric.
