Ration Card: The Department of Food and Consumer Protection has made a significant announcement. According to the National Food Security Act, all holders of ration cards must now complete their e-KYC.
The department has made it clear that if e-KYC is not finished by February 28th, the provision of free rations will be halted. So, ensure you complete this process promptly. The aim is to guarantee that only those who are truly deserving and in need receive rations. Individuals who are improperly benefiting will be removed from the list. This will help maintain a clean and transparent ration system.
How can you complete your e-KYC?
Completing your e-KYC is quite simple and entirely free.
Visit the official website of your state’s Food and Civil Supplies Department (PDS Portal).
Click on the ‘Link Aadhaar with Ration Card’ or ‘E-KYC’ option.
Enter your ration card number and Aadhaar number.
An OTP will be sent to your Aadhaar-linked mobile number. Enter it.
You will receive a ‘Success’ message once the process is complete.
For those residing outside their village or city, they can visit any nearby ration center to get their Aadhaar verification done.
Key information for Antyodaya and Priority category
In the Bhabua sub-division area, there are 1,69,000 registered ration card holders.
20,905 individuals fall under the Antyodaya Anna Yojana.
1,38,174 individuals belong to the priority category.
Antyodaya cards are issued to extremely poor families, including landless laborers, rickshaw pullers, and those with very limited financial means.
Offline Method
Visit your nearest ration shop (PDS Shop).
Bring photocopies of your ration card and Aadhaar cards of all family members.
The dealer will take your biometrics (thumbprints) on the machine.
Your KYC will be updated instantly through the e-POS machine.
The department has urged all beneficiaries to complete their e-KYC before the deadline. Failure to do so may lead to challenges in receiving rations in the future. Therefore, please visit your nearest ration shop now and finalize your e-KYC.
