The Uttar Pradesh Board of Secondary Education, one of the largest educational boards in North India, has made complete preparations for the 2026 high school and intermediate examinations. Over 5.2 million students are participating in these examinations, which begin on February 18, 2026, in Uttar Pradesh. To ensure fair, transparent, and free from cheating, the board administration has implemented extensive security and monitoring systems.

A large number of students registered
A total of 5,230,297 students have registered for the exams this year. Approximately 2.75 million students will appear for the Class 10 exam, of which 1,438,682 are boys, and 1,312,263 are girls. Approximately 24.79 lakh students will appear for the Intermediate 12th examination, of which 13,03,012 are boys, and 11,76,340 are girls. Considering this large number, a special strategy has been developed for exam management.
The Board has established 8,033 examination centers across the state to conduct the examination. Security, surveillance, and basic amenities have been mandated at each center. Instructions have been given to provide lighting, drinking water, seating arrangements, and clean toilets at the centers.
Exam Schedule and Timings
The theory examinations for Class 10 and Class 12 will be held from February 18 to March 12, 2026. The examinations will be held in two shifts: the first shift will be from 8:30 am to 11:45 am, and the second shift will be from 2 pm to 5:15 pm. The Board has instructed students to reach the examination center at least one hour before the start of the examination.
Control Room Monitoring
A special control room has been set up to oversee the conduct of the examination. It was inaugurated by Minister of State for Secondary Education, Gulab Devi. This control room will monitor district activities online throughout the examination period and review matters related to law and order and examination conduct.
Strict Guidelines Issued for Examination Centers
- The Board has issued several important instructions to examination centers.
- Errors in subject or gender will be corrected with the permission of the District School Inspector.
- Mobile phones or other electronic devices will be strictly prohibited for any teacher, staff member, or candidate at the examination center, except for the administrator and the static magistrate.
- Only female staff will check female students.
- No employee will be allowed to enter the center premises without an identity card.
Only a unique code will be stamped on the answer sheets
Announcements will be made in each class before the examination begins, warning students not to keep any money or inappropriate material in the answer sheets. If found doing so, action will be taken as per the rules.
Instructions have been given to provide necessary furniture, lighting, drinking water, and functional toilets at each center.

Important Exam Day Rules
- Students must bring a hard copy of their admit card.
- Students arriving late will not be allowed entry.
- Leaving the exam room before the end of the exam will not be permitted.
- Mobile phones, smartwatches, Bluetooth, tablets, and calculators are strictly prohibited.
- Students caught cheating may be expelled from the exam.
