What is a PPO Number?
PPO, or Pension Payment Order, is a 12-digit unique number issued to an EPS member upon retirement. This number is required to access pension-related records, payment details, and other important information.
If you want to check your pension status, payment date, or other updates, having a PPO number is mandatory. Therefore, it should be kept safe. However, if it is lost, it can be retrieved through the EPFO website.
How to Get Your PPO Number
First, visit the EPFO’s official website.
Go to the Online Services section on the website and select the Pensioner Portal.
After that, click on the Know Your Pension Status option.
You will see the Know Your PPO Number option on the dashboard; click on it.
You will now be asked for your EPF-linked bank account number or PF number.
After entering the correct information, press the Submit button.
Your PPO number will appear on the screen within a few minutes.
How to Check Pension Status
The EPFO website can also be used to check your pension status.
First, go to the website and open the Pension Portal in the Online Services section.
The Pensioners Portal page will open.
Click on the Pension Status option here.
Now, select your Office ID and enter your PPO number.
After submitting, your pension information will appear on the screen.
