PM Kisan 22nd Installment: Agriculture in India has always been subject to weather and market risks. In this context, the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana (PM-KISAN) has emerged as a major financial support for millions of farmers. Under this scheme, the government annually transfers cash assistance of ₹6,000 to farmers’ bank accounts in three equal installments.
So far, the government has successfully released 21 installments, and farmers across the country are eagerly awaiting the 22nd installment. As February 2026 begins, speculation has intensified about whether this new installment of happiness will be transferred to farmers’ accounts immediately after the budget.
When will the 22nd installment arrive

According to the established rules of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Yojana, the government sends financial assistance of ₹2,000 to eligible farmers every four months. The previous, 21st, installment of the scheme was released in November 2025. Accordingly, the four-month cycle ends in February 2026.
Social media and media reports are strongly suggesting that the government may transfer the money to farmers’ accounts in the second or third week of February. While the Agriculture Ministry has yet to officially announce an exact date, beneficiaries should be prepared so that the money is credited to their accounts as soon as it arrives.
These 3 Reasons May Delay Your Money
If you want the ₹2,000 to be credited to your account without any interruption, do not ignore these three important tasks:
Updating e-KYC is Essential
The government has made e-KYC mandatory to ensure transparency in the scheme and prevent fraud. Farmers whose KYC is not updated will have their installments withheld. You can complete this yourself from home by visiting the pmkisan.gov.in portal using your Aadhaar card and OTP.
If you don’t have a smartphone or are experiencing problems with the OTP, you can also complete your KYC through biometrics (thumbprints) at the nearest Common Service Center (CSC). Aadhaar-based verification ensures that the benefits of the scheme reach only the right person.
Check Land Seeding Status
The PM Kisan Yojana benefits only those farmers whose cultivable land is registered in government records. For some time now, the government has been taking a strict stance on land seeding. If your beneficiary status shows “Land Seeding: No,” your installment will not be credited. To correct this, you must immediately visit your local accountant, patwari, or tehsil office and submit your land records and other land documents to update your data.
Activating DBT in your bank account

The scheme funds are transferred directly to your account through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT). Many times, farmers’ bank accounts are active, but the DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer) feature is not activated.
To do this, you must visit your bank branch and link your Aadhaar to the account and get it mapped with NPCI. If your Aadhaar is not properly linked to your bank account, the funds will not be credited to your account even if they are released through the government system.
How to Check Your Name and Status
To check your name on the list and determine whether your installment will be received, you can use the ‘Beneficiary Status’ option on the official PM-KISAN website. By entering your mobile number or registration number here, you can check whether your e-KYC, land seeding, and Aadhaar bank account mapping are “Yes.” If “Yes” is written against all three, then understand that there is no obstacle to receiving your 22nd installment.
