Ration Card E-KYC: This is an important announcement for families receiving government rations. Under the National Food Security Act, E-KYC has now been made mandatory for all ration card holders. Following instructions from the Food and Consumer Protection Department, the district administration is working to complete this process quickly to make the ration distribution system clean and transparent.
Many still haven’t completed E-KYC
According to information received from the administration, more than 16.31 lakh beneficiaries in Supaul district have completed their E-KYC so far. Despite this, about 20 percent of people have not yet completed biometric verification. Officials say that those who do not complete E-KYC on time may face problems in receiving rations in the future.

Ensuring rations reach the truly needy
The main objective of E-KYC is to ensure that government food grains reach only those who are genuinely entitled to them. Through this process, fake and ineligible ration card holders will be removed from the list, ensuring that the right people receive the full benefits.
Appeal from officials
Supaul District Supply Officer Rajiv Kumar said that beneficiaries whose Aadhaar cards are linked to their ration cards but who have not yet completed verification by providing their fingerprint on the e-POS machine should visit their nearest ration dealer as soon as possible to complete the process.

If E-KYC is not completed by the end of February, there may be difficulties in ration distribution. However, the administration has clarified that its objective is not to stop anyone’s rations but to make the entire system accurate and transparent.
