MG Majestor – The Indian SUV market has now reached a period where it is not enough to have just a big car. Taking this thinking forward, MG Motor India is going to launch its new flagship SUV MG Major on 12 February 2026. This SUV will be positioned above the brand’s existing Gloster and target customers who are looking for a premium, rugged and powerful full-size SUV.

Positioning
MG Majestor is specifically designed for the segment where the balance of Rutaba, Strength and Luxury trio is essential. The SUV is about to sit at the top of MG’s lineup and will directly attract customers who have been looking at models such as Toyota Fortuner until now. MG’s focus is clear, not just a large SUV, but to offer Majestor as a statement vehicle.
Price
The MG Majestor is expected to be priced between ₹40 lakh and ₹55 lakh (ex-showroom) in India. This price puts it above the MG Gloster, which is currently priced between ₹38.33 lakh and ₹42.49 lakh.
In this price bracket, the MG Majestor will compete directly with SUVs like the Toyota Fortuner, Jeep Meridian, and Skoda Kodiaq. However, MG claims that more features, larger size, and more technology will give it a distinct identity.
Bold and Rugged Exterior Design
MG Majestor’s design is inspired by the Maxus D90 sold in the international market, and it is clearly reflected by every angle. The large grille in the front, gloss black elements and vertically stacked LED headlamps give it a very aggressive look. The eyebrow-style LED DRLs provided with it give the SUV a modern touch.
The downward rugged black bumpers and silver inserts give it a real off-road SUV look. Strong body cladding in side profiles, dual-tone 19-inch alloy wheels, black door handles and black roof rails further enhance its muscular appeal.
Connected LED tail-lamps at the rear, black bumpers, faux silver skid plates and twin exhaust-style elements give it a premium as well as sporty feel.
Interior
You may know that the Auto Expo did not show the full interior of MG Majestor, but Spy Images has predicted that its cabin will be largely inspired by the Maxus D90. It is expected to have a 12.3-inch floating touchscreen infotainment system, digital driver display and 3-spoke steering wheel.
The gear selector can be kept column-mounted, making the cabin more clean and special. Since Majestor will be placed above Gloster, there is every possibility of getting more premium features.
Gloster already offers features such as panoramic sunroof, three-zone climate control, wireless charging, 12-speaker sound system, powered front seats with massage function and powered tailgate. One step ahead of these technology can be seen in Majestor, so that it will truly achieve flagship SUV status.
Engine and Performance
MG Majestor is expected to offer a 2.0-liter twin-turbo diesel engine, which will generate power of around 216 hp and torque of 479 Nm. The engine will come with an 8-speed automatic gearbox and 4WD system, making it ready for every type of driving condition.

This engine gives torque up to 500 Nm in the international market, so there is hope that MG can tune it a little more for India as well. This setup makes Major both a smooth cruiser on the highway and a reliable machine on the off-road.
